What happens when God’s Word is forgotten, then rediscovered?
In “Dusting Off the Bible,” we look at King Josiah and the incredible transformation that began when the Book of the Law was found, opened, and read. The Bible hadn’t lost its power. God’s people had simply stopped listening to it.
YouTube Description
Dusting Off the Bible – Part 1
King Josiah became king at only eight years old. Years later, while repairing the Temple, something extraordinary was discovered: the Book of the Law.
God’s Word had been neglected while the nation drifted farther and farther from Him. But when the Book was finally opened and read, Josiah didn't ignore what he heard. He humbled himself, repented, removed the idols, renewed the covenant, and led his people back toward God.
The lesson still speaks to us today:
The power wasn't simply in finding the Book. The power came when they opened it.
A dusty Bible contains the same truth as a well-used Bible. The difference is whether we actually open it.
📖 Find it → Read it → Respond to it → Live it.
In this message:
• The Word had been neglected
• The Word was found
• The Word was read
• The Word changed EVERYTHING
The goal of Scripture isn't simply information. It's transformation.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Psalm 119:105
When God's people rediscover God's Word, they begin rediscovering God's ways.
The Bible hasn't lost its power. We've just got to dust it off.

God is perfectly holy, and sin cannot remain in His presence. But instead of leaving us separated from Him, God made a way through Jesus Christ.
In this message, we look at Isaiah’s encounter with the holiness of God and discover why we cannot clean ourselves through good works, religion, or simply trying harder.
Jesus did what we could never do for ourselves. Through His sacrifice, our sins can be forgiven, we can be cleansed, and we can come into the presence of God.
📖 Key Scriptures:
Isaiah 6:1–7
Romans 3:23
Romans 6:23
1 John 1:7
Hebrews 10:19–22
Part 1: God cannot lie. His promises can be trusted.
Part 2: God cannot change. His character can be trusted.
Part 3: God cannot compromise His holiness. Jesus made a way.
God did not change who He is so we could come to Him. Through Jesus, He changed who we are.

3 Things God Can't Do | Part 2 – God Cannot Change
📖 Malachi 3:6 • James 1:17 • Hebrews 13:8 • Psalm 102:25–27
Last week we discovered that God cannot lie because truth is His very nature.
This week we continue our series by looking at another incredible truth:
God cannot change.
In a world where everything changes, careers change, technology changes, culture changes, opinions change, even we change, there is One who remains exactly the same yesterday, today, and forever.
That isn't a weakness.
It's one of the greatest reasons we can trust Him.
In this message you'll discover:
✅ Why God's unchanging nature matters
✅ Why His promises never expire
✅ Why His love never fluctuates
✅ Why His mercy isn't based on your performance
✅ Why your hope can rest in an unchanging God
Key Scriptures
📖 Malachi 3:6
📖 James 1:17
📖 Hebrews 13:8
📖 Psalm 102:25–27
Three Main Truths
1. God's Nature Never Changes
God has never needed to learn more.
He has never needed to improve.
He has never been wrong.
He is already perfect.
2. His Promises Never Change
God doesn't make promises based on emotion.
He makes promises based on His eternal character.
Because He never changes...
His Word never changes.
3. His Love Never Changes
God doesn't love you more on your best day...
or less on your worst day.
His love, mercy, holiness, forgiveness, and faithfulness remain constant because His character never changes.
The Big Question
Who do you want to trust with your eternity?
Changing human wisdom...
or the God who has never changed?
If you've ever wondered whether you can truly depend on God when life feels uncertain, this message is for you.
Because while the world continues to change...
God never will.

# **3 Things God Can't Do | God Can't Lie**
**Hebrews 6:18 | 1 John 1:5 | John 14:6 | Titus 1:2 | Numbers 23:19**
Can God do anything?
Scripture tells us there is one thing God cannot do...
**God cannot lie.**
Not because He lacks power, but because truth is His very nature.
In this message we discover that God's inability to lie is actually one of the greatest reasons we can completely trust Him. His promises never fail because His character never changes.
Using simple but powerful illustrations with fire, light, and truth, we explore why God always acts according to who He is.
---
## In this message:
• God's Nature Is Truth
• Why God Cannot Lie
• Why Every Promise of God Can Be Trusted
• How God's Character Gives Us Hope
• Living with Confidence in God's Word
---
### Key Scriptures
📖 Hebrews 6:18
📖 1 John 1:5
📖 John 14:6
📖 Titus 1:2
📖 Numbers 23:19
---
## Main Truth
God doesn't wake up every morning deciding whether He will tell the truth.
Truth isn't simply something God does.
**Truth is who God is.**
Just as fire is hot because it is fire...
Just as light cannot create darkness...
God cannot lie because He is Truth.
---
Because God cannot lie...
• His promises never fail.
• His Word never changes.
• His salvation is secure.
• His faithfulness never ends.
Every promise God has made is backed by His perfect character.
---
## Question to Consider
**What promise of God have you stopped believing?**
Maybe today is the day to trust Him again.
If God said it...
**You can believe it.**

Mission Possible: Hur — Saw a Need and Acted!
Pastor Steve Smith | Sunday, July 19, 2026
In this message, Pastor Steve Smith looks at the quiet faithfulness of Hur. When Moses grew tired during Israel's battle with Amalek, Hur saw the need and stepped in. He served without seeking recognition, earned trust through faithfulness, and left a legacy that reached beyond his lifetime.
Main Scripture:
Exodus 17:8–13
Exodus 24:14
Message Points:
1. Hur saw a need and stepped in.
2. Hur was willing to stay in the background.
3. Hur was trusted with leadership because he was faithful.
4. Hur's faithfulness reached beyond his lifetime.
Seven ways to be someone's Hur this week:
• Hold up someone with encouragement.
• Hold up someone through prayer.
• Hold up someone by serving quietly.
• Hold up someone who is tired.
• Hold up someone by speaking hope.
• Hold up someone by being faithful in small things.
• Hold up someone by pointing them to Jesus.
Additional Scripture:
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Galatians 6:2
Matthew 20:26
Proverbs 12:25
Luke 16:10
Matthew 11:28

Sermon Summary
This message from Numbers 22 reminds us that God is often working in ways we do not immediately understand. In Balaam’s story, what looked like delay was actually protection. What felt like interruption was mercy. God sees dangers we cannot see, speaks through unexpected people and circumstances, and calls us to trust Him even when the road ahead does not make sense.
This sermon focuses on four main truths:
* God sees what we cannot see.
* God’s delays may actually be His protection.
* God can speak through unexpected voices.
* Anger and frustration can keep us from recognizing what God is doing.
The message closes by pointing us back to the Good Shepherd, reminding us that even when we do not understand the path, we can trust the One who leads us.
Scripture:
Numbers 22:21-35
Proverbs 3:5-6
Romans 8:28
Psalm 23
John 10:27-28
James 1:19
Proverbs 15:31-33

Encourages those of us who feel overlooked, limited, or disqualified and reminds us that God still uses unlikely people in powerful ways. There will be 8 people we will look at together... God wants to capture your heart. He wants to bring you to His Word. Make you come back for more. To say That's in the Bible? There will be some gross and strange people/stories even a person we won't know their name. We will experience together on our Mission. Let's get started!

Here’s a concise summary of your sermon presentation:
**Memorial Day: “What Are These Stones For?”**
The message connects the purpose of Memorial Day with the story in Joshua chapter 4. Just as we honor those who sacrificed their lives for freedom, God instructed Israel to build a memorial of twelve stones after crossing the Jordan River so future generations would remember His faithfulness and power.
### Main points:
**1. God commands us to remember**
Israel was not supposed to forget what God had done. In the same way, we should remember:
* Sacrifice
* Courage
* Service
* Blessings that came at a cost
**2. Memorials teach the next generation**
God knew children would one day ask, *“What do these stones mean?”* Memorials create opportunities to teach:
* Gratitude
* Faithfulness
* Sacrifice
* Service to others
* Remembering how God has carried us through life
**3. Faith and courage are required**
Crossing the Jordan happened during dangerous flood conditions and required trust in God. The message compares this to:
* Soldiers stepping into danger
* Families carrying burdens
* People walking in faith during uncertain times
**Closing message:**
Memorials matter because people forget. The challenge is not just to remember sacrifices of the past, but to ask: *“How should we live because of them?”*
The sermon in one sentence: *Remember God's faithfulness and honor sacrifice so future generations understand both the cost of freedom and the importance of faith.*

Today we are at our final week of Blooming Where God Plants Us. In week 1 we looked at being here for a purpose. Being in the neighborhood and workplace for a purpose. Nobody is placed here or there randomly or by mistake. God planted me here. You are here. Right where you are!
Week 2 which was importance of having strong roots when the hard times come. Spending time with God in the Bible and in Prayer. And letting Jesus take charge of our lives. Our emotions. Our thoughts.
We also learned week 2 that we can plant but we can't make our own growth. It requires work. Attention.
Last week we looked at eliminating dead branches or branches in our lives that are growing but not in a good way. We defined it as pruning and how it is necessary for us to continue to grow and Bloom!
Let's pray for this week's message Blooming For His Glory!
